The Order of the Phoenix is a secret society that was formed by Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, to fight off Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
The orders objective is simply to defeat Lord Voldemort. The order members are all good fighters, so they are able to fight the death eaters.
For instinsts, when the death eaters were at the ministry and in the dept. of mysteries, the order had to fight them off. which they did. The only death eater that escaped was Voldemort highest luinenant other than Severus Snape. the rest of the death eaters were captured by the order of the phoenix and then sent to the wizard prison of Azkaban. In the sixth book, things werent going well for the order. Snape was giving info on the order away to Voldemort. Then at the end of the sixth book, finally Snape shows his side and kills Dumbledore and jions Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
The order begins to lose in the seventh book. i will say no further as of now, until all the secrets are out.
